1. Kasturba Medical College, Manipal
Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, that was established in the year 1953. It was the first self-financing medical college in the private sector in India, established in a barren hillock which has turned itself to be a green environmental city, with all modern amenities conducive to student learning. Today, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, is a name synonymous with quality medical education which attracts people not only from India but also from other countries of the world. The college has consistently been ranked among the top ten medical colleges in the country. Students from over 30 countries graduate from the college every year and the degrees are recognized worldwide.
KMC was under the purview of the Mangalore University. In 1993, the government of India granted Deemed University status to Manipal University (formerly known as MAHE) which saw KMC coming under its wing. KMC has exchange programs with Loma Linda University, United States, Operation Eyesight Universal, Canada, Dundee University, Dundee, Scotland, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, United States and Maastricht University, Netherlands.
The Medical Council of India granted recognition in 1958 with the first graduating batch of KMC. Recognition by the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council soon followed. It is recognized by a Government of India order.

Thousands and lakhs of students vie for the 360 available seats. Based on the marks obtained in the test, the university declares a merit list of all the candidates who have appeared for the entrance test. The eligible students are then called for counselling and admission to the college’s flagship MBBS program are done through this merit list. The same merit list is used for admission to both MBBS and BDS courses of the Kasturba Medical College Manipal and Mangalore.
The university is home to the largest library in Asia for an education institution. The Health Sciences Library of Manipal University is a modern facility extending over 150,000 square feet on six floors and can accommodate 1300 users at a time. Student Research Forum
The Student Research Forum is the premier student body that promotes research among undergraduate students. It organizes workshops, lectures, and a national undergraduate research conference, Conventus, once a year.
HOPES (Health Organization for Public Education by Students) is a non-profit student organization that aims to generate awareness among the general population regarding health and thus, eliminate misconceptions and taboos that surround ailments. It seeks to educate people on a one-to-one basis thereby facilitating better execution of its ideas in light of their acceptance and co-operation.
Manipal University Literary Club
This club is a wing of Centre for Humanities and was officially inaugurated on 5 February 2008 by M.S. Valiathan, at counseling hall, Manipal.edu building. This club is a brainchild of Prof. M.V. Kamath, hon. director of MIC and former chairman of Prasar Bharati.
Activities of the Literary Club include book or poem reading sessions by the authors and/or readers, discussions about literature-related activities, workshops/seminars on literature writing, etc. Students and teaching staff from colleges under Manipal University represent their college and are enrolled as club members. Members contribute with their creative work in literature and discuss events for the future, during meetings held by the club. Any literature-loving person at Manipal University can become a member of this club.
2. Basaveshwara Medical College and Hospital, Chitradurga
The SJM Vidyapeetha started Basaveshwara Medical College in the backward district Chitradurga, to reach the medical education to the unreached in particular and the development of this backward region in general, in the year 2001-02. The College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore and Recognised by Medical Council of India, New Delhi. It is also a Member of Comed.K Group.

Registration for admission to CMC Vellore is done through online mode. Those who wish to apply can submit the application form on the official website of the institute.
For admission to undergraduate courses, the candidate should have passed class 12 in relevant stream with minimum 50% marks. CMC Vellore MBBS Admission
The Institute provides MBBS Program for the duration of 5.5 years. Candidates seeking admission to MBBS need to obtain minimum 60% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as main subjects.

CMC Vellore Facilities
Well stocked medical libraries exist in both the hospital and college campuses. Scientific journals, MEDLINE system for literature search, internet and reprographic facilities are available in the libraries. There is a well-organized Medical Records Library in the institution as well as a departmental records system. The town campus houses the main hospital where any of the students can avail medical facilities as per their need. CMC has over 7,600 staff, including over 1,200 doctors and 2,400 nurses. Almost every clinical speciality is catered to. 2600 beds are available for inpatients and over 6000 outpatients are treated daily in the main hospital and in peripheral units.
There are two main campuses – one, the main campus at the heart of Vellore city, and the other at Bagayam, which is about 7 km from the main campus. M.S. Ramaiah Medical College(MSRMC) is a private medical college situated in Bangalore, Karnataka affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. M. S. RAMAIAH MEDICAL COLLEGE was started in the year 1979 and has since grown into an institute of recognition and repute in India and abroad. 6. Sai Siddhartha Medical College, Karnataka
Sri Siddhartha Medical College (SSMC) was started in the year 1988 by Sri Siddhartha Educational Society (SSES). The Medical College and hospital is located in the outskirts of Tumkur city. The college was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. After the Medical Council of India and the then Karnataka state government run under the Chief Minister, Ramakrishna Hegde had declined the permission to set up the college.
